Legendary South Indian actor Kamal Haasan is currently in the midst of promoting his upcoming film ‘Vishwaroopam 2’, but the actor has hinted this could be his last film.

Reported on Asian Age, Haasan who is admired for his work in both South and Bollywood films, has a second love and that is politics. The ‘Sadma’ (1983) actor who is a politician explains that he needs to invest more time in this job as he is on a mission to eradicate corruption in the South. “I have a budget of over Rs 1 lvakh crores to make the state strong and great by eradicating corruption. I have to devote more time to bettering my state. Thus, film making does not seem important to me now.”

Asked if his acting career has helped with his political work, Haasan jokingly replies, “Acting talent helps even animals. When everyone can make use of acting, why not politicians?”

Talking about how the people of Tamil Nadu prefer his as an actor as opposed to a politician, Haasan says, “Yes, they prefer the actor and not the politician. That’s because they know me very well as an actor.” The ‘Saagar’ (1985) actor however feels it’s important they also know about his political work, saying, “It is my duty to make them know more about me as a politician. I will work towards it so that they may continue showing their love towards me as a politician as well.”
