Ajay Devgn’s first periodic drama ‘Taanaji – The Unsung Warrior’, brings him and wife Kajol back on the screens together again after nine years.
Mumbai Mirror reports that details of the ‘Dilwale’ (2015) star’s role in the film have been kept a secret. However it has surfaced that the ‘Helicopter Eela’ (2018) actress has been busy shooting at Mumbai’s Filmcity studio, where recently she shot for a song on a lavish constructed set, made especially for the sequence, that had hundreds of diyas and rangolis.
A close source reveals a bit about the dance, “The song was shot over a week in the last week of December and is a part of the climax. It sees Kajol dressed in a traditional Maharastrian outfit from the 17th century, inside her onscreen home. It has her thinking about her relationship with her warrior husband and a certain situation the couple is faced with at the time. Although Ajay won’t feature in the number, there are glimpses of their past moments together.”
The source went on to add, “The dance number accentuates her character’s emotional state and focuses on her facial expressions.”
For the film, the ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2010) actress who is half-Maharastrian has also needed to brush-up on her basic understanding of the language along with other traditional elements with effortless ease.
‘Taanaji – The Unsung Warrior’ is based on a 17th century Maharastrian warrior, which has an impressive line up of stars featuring in the film, such as Saif Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, but to name a few.
