Kajol to play aspiring singer in Pradeep Sarkar’s film?

Last month, BizAsiaLive.com reported that Kajol had confirmed her next venture with Pradeep Sarkar, with husband Ajay Devgn producing. It’s now emerged that the actress could be seen as an aspiring singer in the film, tentatively titled ‘Ela’.

Pinkvilla reports a source stating, “Kajol plays the role of a young woman, who loves to sing. She aspires to become famous but is forced to get married instead. A turmoil in the relationship forces her to leave her husband and raise her child as a single parent. Later, she enhances her singing skills with encouragement from her son and eventually gets appreciated for her craft”.

The film is said to be based on Anand Gandhi’s play called ‘Beta, Kaagdo’.
