‘Kajjal’ latest Sony TV soap to face axe

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has been in revamp mode these past few weeks. After the demises of ‘Thodi Khushi Thodi Gham’ and ‘Durgesh Nandini’, the next to see the chop is ‘Kajjal’.

According to a report on Mumbai Mirror, Bollywood actor Mohnish Behl was set to star filming for the troubled show, however he was told the soap was being wound up due to faltering viewing figures.

Apparently, he was really disappointed when he got to know that the show had to be wrapped up. Says Mohnish, “I was signed for Kajjal and I did shoot for one day but a couple of days later, the channel decided to pull it off air.”

Says Misha Gautam, producer, “We had a mind-blowing role for Mohnish. We spent about Rs 4 lakh on the promos. Now the show is going off air, we can feel the monetary loss and the fact that we lost out on a fabulous actor.

We are also upset since we had worked out the character well and were looking forward to his entry to boost the TRPs of the show.”

The last episode of ‘Kajjal’ will be shown on Thursday 20th December.
