‘Kaante’ sequel to roll next year?

15 years after the huge success of ‘Kaante’ (2002), director Sanjay Gupta is reportedly working on a sequel, as BizAsiaLive.com recently reported. It’s being said that this could be as early as next year.

“Yes ‘Kaante 2’ is very much underway and work on the script of the film is going on”, a source told Bollywood Hungama. Gupta has neither confirmed nor denied this news.

The release date has not been finalized yet, but the film is expected to be completed in 2018. “Given the current pace, ‘Kaante 2’ is expected to go on floors next year and will be wrapped up within the year itself.”, the source added.

The cast of ‘Kaante 2’ has not been confirmed. ‘Kaante’ starred Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Mahesh Manjrekar and Malaika Arora, but it is not clear if any of the original cast will return for the sequel.
