Jyoti Kapoor wins plagiarism row over Kunal Kohli’s ‘Phir Se’

Phir Se still

Writer Jyoti Kapoor has won the plagiarism row over Kunal Kohli’s upcoming film ‘Phir Se’.

According to Magana Mags, the latest court verdict favours the writer who claimed allegations that the film was based on a plot that she discussed with Kohli in January 2013. Since then, the film’s team stopped production until a verdict was given. Furthermore, the film was forced to miss its 8th May release date due to the court case.

The report adds that the verdict comes after the FWA sent both scripts to experts and ruled in Jyoti’s favour as well. In the ruling, the court has granted an injunction which puts the release of ‘Phir Se’ on hold.

Kohli has not commented on this story yet. It will be interesting to see how the issue is resolved.

‘Phir Se’ will see Jennifer Winget make her Bollywood debut.
