Juhi Chawla: “Movies like ‘Darr’ can’t be remade”
The evergreen leading lady of the 90s, Juhi Chawla, recently made a statement that her original blockbuster film and cult classic, ‘Darr’ (1993) would not be justified in a remake.
The superstar was, at the time, attending the screening of Shoojit Sircar’s��recently released��’Pink’ (2016), when she was asked by the media to comment on the web series based on the Yash Chopra directorial thriller.
According to��Times of India, Chawla responded with, “It’s nothing like ‘Darr’, it just has a resemblance with it or may be inspired by it. In fact I think movies like ‘Darr’ can’t be remade but they can inspire.”
The web series, titled ‘Darr 2.0’ has been produced by YRF’s own sub-division, Y Films.
It can be noted that on the cinema front, Lalit Mohan is making a film titled ‘Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna’ starring Karanvir Bohra, which has been tagged as a ‘Darr’ remake and Chawla has previously admitted to playing��a cameo role in the remake.
Chawla was last seen on the silver screen in Amin Surani’s ‘Chalk n Duster’ (2015).
