Joy Chakraborthy leaves ZEE; joins TV Today

Joy Chakraborthy is leaving ZEE Network to head TV Today, the television news network of Indian Today Group and parent company of Aaj Tak.

Chakraborthy will be joining the TV Today from 1st December, filling in the vacant position left by G Krishnan earlier this year. Chakraborthy’s resignation at ZEE Network was announced on Monday.
He resigned from his post of Executive Director ��� Revenue & Niche Channels at ZEE Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE) after a stint of six and a half years. Along with heading media sales, he was also the business unit head of niche channels which include ZEE Khana Khazana, ZEE Caf̩, ZEE Studio, ZEE Trendz, ETC and Zing.

Punit Goenka, MD & CEO, ZEE Entertainment Enterprises, said, “I have accepted his resignation with a heavy heart. He led a strong team at ZEE that will continue to be part of our family.”

Chakraborthy said, “My journey at ZEE for the last six and a half years has been extremely rewarding and fruitful. I am thankful to ZEE for giving me the opportunity to explore and broaden my experience in diversified functions.”
