It looks like there is a rising trend in Bollywood to make films on sports personalities. However, there will be two actors essaying the role of wrestler Gama Pehlwan and that too in separate films, BizAsia has learnt.

Previously, Salman Khan and brother Sohail Khan announced that they are going to make a film on Pehlwan. According to DNA, John Abraham is also likely to make a biopic on the wrestler.

While Sohail will essay the role in brother Salman’s production, directed by Puneet Issar, Abraham will play the character in the movie that will be produced by him and directed by Parmeet Sethi.

For the Salman-Sohail movie, Issar has already roped in Olympian Sushil Kumar to train Sohail for the role. The actor will have to weigh about 99kgs to fit the role. The team is also scouting for foreign wrestlers who can be part of the movie as Gama had defeated many opponents from other countries.

As for Abraham’s film, the actor is already in great shape but he may go through some intense training for the character of a wrestler.

Sources suggest that Sethi has been working on the project for three years. They also have registered titles for their movies with the Film Writers Association. We wonder if making movies on the same topic causes a rift between Salman and Abraham yet again.
