John Abraham to revive ‘Force’ franchise with third instalment
John Abraham is set to revive his popular ‘Force’ franchise, with a third film now in active development.
The actor first portrayed the role of ACP Yashvardhan Singh in the 2011 action thriller ‘Force’, directed by the late Nishikant Kamat. He reprised the role in ‘Force 2’ in 2016, opposite Sonakshi Sinha. Seven years on, Abraham has reacquired the rights to the franchise from producer Vipul Shah, with a firm intention to reimagine the series for a new era.
Having quietly worked on the project for the past two years, Abraham is now preparing to begin filming ‘Force 3’, with production expected to commence towards the end of 2025. According to reports, the makers are currently in search of a formidable actor to take on the antagonist’s role, aiming to recreate the intense dynamic reminiscent of Abraham’s face-off with Vidyut Jammwal in the original film.
