John Abraham to play footballer Sibdas Bhaduri in ‘1911’

Actor John Abraham, who is a football enthusiast, is going to be portraying a footballer in his upcoming film ‘1911’, BizAsia has come to know.

According to IANS, the actor will be essaying the footballer Sibdas Bhaduri in Shoojit Sircar’s film. He says that football is his passion and this biopic is a special one for him. “It is a true story about victory, resilience and freedom,” he said.

The actor has previously played a soccer player in his 2007 film ‘Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal’ which sadly failed to impress at the box office. Abraham is also the producer of ‘1911’ and he is quite confident that this one will be better than his previous two productions – ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012) and ‘Madras Cafe’ (2013).

When asked how is he preparing himself for the role Abraham answered, “Shoojit is taking care of everything. I am not preparing as such. Shoojit has asked me to stay lean, stay fit and look like a footballer.”

‘1911’ will also star Ayushmann Khurrana who was in Abraham’s first production, ‘Vicky Donor’.
