John Abraham is indeed a multi-tasker. To add yet another notch on that belt of his, he has recently jointly bought the team Delhi Waveriders which is a hockey team in Hockey India League.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Abraham spoke about the purchase, “My vision is to see hockey, our national sport, in the forefront. I closely follow the sport. I am a big fan of Sardar Singh, the Indian hockey captain and the star of the Delhi team. He gives me a complex when it comes to fitness levels. I wish to endorse the sport not just on paper but would like to train with these players”.

Abraham also talked of wanting to bring different sports to Indian cinema, “I would like to bring the spotlight on sports films a genre that still remains elusive to filmmakers. Of late, biopics have become a preferred route for those wishing to make sports films, as they believe this adds human drama to the plot. Shoojit Sircar and I are making a film on sports, which is not a biopic on any sports personality but based on a true story of a player”.

The actor revealed that he feels such films would do wonders for the industry and said his favourite sport will always remain hockey.
