Jimmy Shergill’s character ‘matured’ in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’

With the promo already receiving much applause, it seems people cannot wait to see actor Jimmy Shergill’s character come back in ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. The actor, who has made supporting appearances in many recent releases, seems as excited about his part like his fans.

Catching up with the media, NDTV reported Shergill talking about the development of his character since the prequel, “I am returning as Tanu’s (Kangana Ranaut) ex-fiance Raja Awasthi. The character has matured and toned down by 5-6 years. He doesn’t have to try to be convincing this time. Just one look at him suffices.”

Talking about the film and its characters as a whole. the actor went on to add, “The director has smartly woven the plot into a completely different situation. Barring a couple of new characters, which have been introduced in the sequel, everything has started from where the first part ended. Some characters have matured while others have retained their original vibe.”

Directed by Anand L Rai, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ is set for release on 22nd May, and will see Ranaut playing a double role opposite R. Madhavan.
