Jimmy Shergill on ‘Madaari’: ‘My character is a far more mature cop’

Although he has played a police officer in many of his previous films, popular actor Jimmy Shergill confesses his role��in ‘Madaari’ is a more mature cop.

When asked about the difference between his character in ‘Madaari’ as compared to recent release ‘Traffic'(2016), in which he also plays an officer, according to Hindustan Times,����Shergill explained, “You think that it is a cop, he is something else, you don’t know who he is. You see it on 15 July [when the movie releases]. It’s basically a CBI guy, it is a far more mature character, or a matured cop from what I have done before.”

The ‘Mohabbatein'(2000) actor, will be seen in the movie, supporting a thick moustache and glasses whilst trying to solve the mysterious abduction of a home minister’s son.

Shergill was seen on 10th June in attendance at a launch event of one of the songs from the movie titled, Dama Dam, on which he commented, “It is doing justification to what the film is also about.” The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial uses the tagline ‘Desh So Raha Hai’ (the country is sleeping) which is also used as a prominent theme throughout the song and is reported to be critical in narrating the storyline of the movie.

‘Madaari’, which also stars Irrfan Khan in a pivotal role, is scheduled to release on 15th July.
