Jimmi Harkishin to mark 20th year on ‘Coronation Street’ with “extended break”

Many will remember Dev Alahan’s first appearance almost 20 years ago on ITV’s ‘Coronation Street’. The actor who play him, Jimmi Harkishin, has confirmed that he will be leaving the show for two months to mark his 20th year on the show.

The Messenger Newspaper spoke to the actor as he revealed, “My first appearance was on November 10, 1999, and I have loved every minute of it. I’ve been here that long that I am now an honorary Mancunian!”

Harkishin, 54, has been granted an extended break by the makers to allow him to celebrate this milestone. He adds, “Corrie bosses have very kindly let me have time off for two months to celebrate my 20th year, which I am very grateful for, so I am going to visit China and Japan”.

BizAsiaLive.com extends congratulations to the actor as he embarks on this two-month journey.
