Jimmi Harkishin has announced his departure from ‘Coronation Street’, bringing an end to his 26-year run as Dev Alahan.
His character will soon be written out of the show, with upcoming scenes revealing Dev’s decision to travel to India.
Over the years, Dev has been at the heart of several major storylines. Most recently, he has been supporting his partner, Bernie, as she copes with the heartbreaking loss of her son, Paul.

Harkishin’s exit comes at a time of significant changes for the long-running ITV soap. While ‘Coronation Street’ will continue airing hour-long episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the remainder of the year, a new format will take effect in 2026, shifting to half-hour episodes aired daily.
