Jimi Mistry became the latest celebrity to be booted off from BBC One’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ show, despite impressing judges and sitting high on the scoreboard.

In the shock move, the actor got his best score to date from Len Goodman and the other panelists, notching up an amazing 32 out of 40 for his quickstep, which Alesha Dixon said made “everyone smile”.

Jimi and his pro dance partner Flavia Cacace even got a standing ovation from the judges, but the East Is East star didn۪t fare so well with viewers, who voted him out of the competition.

But before leaving he told the audience that he was backing Ann Widdecombe to win, telling them, “I think Ann has a very good chance of going all the way.”
