‘Jhalak’ returns for 2015

Colors has confirmed that its reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded’ will be hitting television screens next week.

Bringing together awe-inspiring talent, a cool quotient and technically spectacular dance moves, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded will witness 12 celebrities barrel through gruelling rehearsals to champion challenging choreography and delivering entertaining performances. Produced by BBC Worldwide and hosted by maestro MC Manish Paul. This year’s series will be judged by Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottleib.

Making his debut on television as a reality show judge, Shahid Kapoor said, I’m thrilled to come on board in this season of Jhalak and really looking forward to have a gala time with Karan, Lauren, Ganesh along with some enthusiastic bunch of contestants. With the new elements that we are trying to infuse in the format this time, I’m certain that the viewers too will have a great time watching Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded.”

Speaking about his expectations from the new season, Karan Johar said, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was my first step into reality television; it۪s where my journey on the small screen began. Having been a part of the show over four seasons, I am now looking forward to see how the contestants add the element of innovation to their performances to create an impeccable presentation that will make us sit up and take note of their ability to reload the dance extravagance.۝

Being a Dance Guru this season means that technical prowess and brilliance will need to be at its absolute high. Dance Guru Lauren Gottleib will highlight the importance of artistic expressionism in every performance. She added, To get an opportunity to assess contestants on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded makes me feel very humbled. Two years ago, I came to the show as a contestant who fell just shy of taking home the trophy, and last year I was a part of the show as a challenger. This year, I will not be focusing on the dancers۪ expressions, technique, execution, performance, and choreography. Rather, I will be looking for the whole package. I want to be an inspiring judge that helps the contestants imbibe the various qualities that a perfect dancer requires.۝

Commenting on his creative inputs to push the contestants۪ boundaries, Dance Guru Ganesh Hegde said, Dancing is as much about expression and personality as it is about perfection and discipline. In Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Reloaded the focus will now be on the technical aptitude of the choreographers and how they transform a non-dancer into a seasoned performer. I can easily decipher an honest performer from a frivolous one and since I don’t know how to mince words, the contestants better be ready to hear the ugly truth.۝
