Legendary actor and co-producer (Balaji Motion Pictures) of ‘Udta Punjab’ has spoken about the uproar surrounding the release of their film.
‘Udta Punjab’ has been stuck with the censor board after they demanded 40 cuts and the removal of Punjab references from the film.
Talking via son, Tushar Kapoor’s Twitter account, Jeetendra said, ���Jeetendra: We respect the people of Punjab and certainly would never want to hurt their sentiments. We have and will always go by whatever right advice the CBFC gives! Films are for entertainment, not for defamation and we have no such intention as I, myself, am a proud son of Punjab.�
The film is slated for a release on 17th June. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
