Jeetendra acquitted in sexual assault case

Veteran actor Jeetendra has recently been acquitted of claims of sexual assault accused by his own cousin. The Himachal Pradesh High Court cited a lack of evidence.

According to DNA India, the FIR filed against the actor from his cousin claimed that he took her to a hotel room, where he joined two beds together and forced himself on her. However, having reviewed the report, the Court came to the conclusion that, as the report seems vague and unlikely, this seems to be a false claim due to the cousin’s daughter was rejected from a role after auditioning at the actor’s home production house Balaji Motion Pictures.

“This lends credibility to the contention that the lodging of the FIR was an act of mala fide and a result of the daughter of his cousin having been rejected,” the court explained.
