Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Jazbaa

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s much talked about return vehicle ‘Jazbaa’ will have its first look unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival 2015, as reported previously. Now, it’s emerged that it will be launched during a closed UN panel discussion on gender equality due to take place on 19th May.

The panel are expected to discuss the role of women in media and producer Akash Chawla (Essel Vision) and director Sanjay Gupta will also be present along with Bachchan. Chawla told Mumbai Mirror, “Most films define the man as the only hero but in this case all three actors, Aishwarya, Shabana Azmi and Irrfan Khan, have equally significant roles in taking the story forward. And since the trio have a prominent international presence, an event at Cannes, which is the most prestigious film fest, was a welcome opportunity to get the international media together under one roof.”

Chawla also mentioned, “The Cannes market is a great place to connect with international distributors”. There are hopes of the film getting a global release.

The film is slated for release on 9th October.
