Television actor Jay Bhanushali who has crossed over into Bollywood with ‘Hate Story 2’ (2014) is yet to be seen in a big budget film since, but for him, it was will be quality over quantity. He looks up to the critically acclaimedNawazuddin Siddiqui, who also started his career with small roles, and is everyone’s favorite today.

In an interview with PTI, he said, “As an actor, I look up to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. He started his career with some really small roles. In ‘Jungle’ he just had a reaction shot and there was no dialogue. In ‘New York’, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ he had a small part. But even in those small scenes he gave his best and people noticed his talent. And that’s what even I am doing. I don’t mind doing such kind of films but at the end I want the roles to be strong where I can show my acting capabilities. ‘Hate Story 2’ was an erotic film but in ‘Ek Paheli Leela’ I had no kissing scenes and I was playing a different character. In my first film, I was an erotic hero, in ‘Desi Kattey’ I was a gangster, in the third film I was an anti-hero. I have been trying to different kind of cinema and not get stereotyped.”

Bhaushali is currently seen hosting the fifth season of Zee TV’s popular dance reality show, ‘Dance India Dance’ (2011-2015).
