Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin set to bid farewell in Feb?

There have been reports in the Indian press today that popular drama Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin will be ending its sucessful run on Sony next month.

The light hearted drama proved to be a ratings winner and has kept entertained with regular twists and turns in the story about a gawky girl in Gulmohar who transforms into a stunning beauty that she is now.

According to TellyChakkar, now that Jassi and Armaan have finally tied the knot, that puts the other suitors safely out of the frame, and hopefully resolves the myriad issues that plagued India’s first television plain Jane.

Now we hear that Sony has decided that enough is enough, and that Jassi…will wind up. On 16th February (In India), to be precise. Sony is loath to confirm the channel driver’s demise just yet, but we have it on authority that another show, perhaps a reality show like Paisa Bhari Ho Gaya, will take its place.

It is also to note that ZEE TV will be ending its long-running Astitva Ek Prem Kahani later this month. So it does look the channels have started 2006 with the case of out with the old and in with the new. But how popular with this move turn out to be? Keep it with Biz Asia for the utmost latest.
