Jasmine Takhar confirmed as new BBC Asian Network Weekend Breakfast host

BBC Asian Network has announced that Jasmine Takhar is the new presenter of The BBC Asian Network Weekend Breakfast Show (6-10am), having taken over from Harpz Kaur who is now The BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show presenter (weekdays, 6-10am).

Jasmine joined BBC Asian Network in late 2016 and presented Asian Network’s Friday Night Residency (Fridays, 9pm-12am) before taking on her new position.

Nottingham-born Jasmine started her career in London at community radio station Westside Radio before joining Nottingham’s first official urban radio station – Kemet FM. While Jasmine presented a daily show for Kemet FM, she was also a guest presenter on BBC Radio Nottingham.

Jasmine Takhar says, “It’s been an amazing journey so far this year working with BBC Asian Network and this just tops it! It’s a great honour to be taking on Weekend Breakfast. So many people wake up and switch on the radio first thing in the morning and it’s incredible that the station has given me the opportunity take on a brilliant show that’s loved by so many.”
