Jasleen Royal reacts after being trolled for performance with Coldplay
Singer Jasleen Royal has voiced her disappointment over criticism she faced from a section of netizens following her performance with Coldplay in Mumbai earlier this year.
She began the show with a heartfelt rendition of her song ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, leaving the audience captivated. Later, she took to the stage alongside Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, for an emotive duet of “We Pray”, a track from the band’s latest album, Moon Music. However, her performance drew online backlash.
One social media user wrote, “I absolutely loathe Jasleen Royal. That girl cannot sing. She can whisper words, but that’s not singing, in my opinion. There are better artists who deserve such a huge opportunity.”
Another added, “Jasleen was atrocious. How does she even get a gig is beyond me; such a horrible singer. What’s with that baby voice she does?”
Addressing the criticism on social media, Jasleen remarked, “Yaar, kal nahi hua tha. Kal problem kya hua tha? In-ears phat kyu rahe the mere?” A team member replied, “That creative part I will leave to you. Technical part, we are sorry.” Jasleen later shared, “At a certain point, I can feel like it’s time to go home. There’s a lot of pressure. I’ll die. I swear I’ll die. I’m still processing it. It was a lot to take in.”
