Japan earthquake dominates news channels

News channels across the world are continuing to provide rolling coverage of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, earlier today.

Most broadcasters are showing video of wreckage in Japan and monitoring tsunami maps of the Pacific.

UK channels Sky News and BBC News are continuing to provide wall-to-wall coverage while US broadcasters CNN and Fox News are also providing non-stop coverage on the disaster north-east of Tokyo.

Asian news channels Star News, Aaj Tak and NDTV are also providing comprehensive coverage of the destruction in Japan with most broadcasters opting to take live feeds from Japanese television channel NHK.

On radio, the BBC Asian Network will be running a special ‘Asian Network Reports’ from 18:30 tonight.

It’s also been confirmed that this was Japan’s most powerful earthquake since records began.
