‘Jagga Jasoos’ in trouble for similarities with ‘Mirziya’?

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Jagga Jasoos’ seems to have come to an obstacle, BizAsia has learnt. The film, which is 60% complete, has apparently struck a similar story-telling style as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Mirziya’.

A source spoke to Deccan Chronicle, “They are re-doing most of the film and Ranbir is very tensed. The same thing happened with Basu�۪s Barfi where a lot of re-shooting was involved”. Director Anurag Basu, it is thought, will need to re-shoot much of the film. ‘Mirziya’ is apparently also a film where the leads express themselves through singing.

With Govinda also having walked out of the film, Basu is on the hunt for another actor to step in and is in talks with Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and also Rishi Kapoor. The source adds, “Govinda was never too keen to play RK�۪s father, but Anurag coaxed and convinced him that he�۪d be playing a dad to a 17-year-old. When the role didn�۪t quite shape up like what he had been told, he walked out of the film leaving the makers to scout for a replacement”.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ also stars Katrina Kaif and was set to be a musical. It remains to be seen whether these changes now further delay the release of this much-awaited film.
