Jacqueline & Katrina in high demand for award shows?

We’re at the start of the awards season and there are two B-town beauties who are reportedly in much demand to perform at these shows – Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Reported in Hindustan Times, the competition between the two is fierce as both have had hit dance numbers which have been highly popular with fans. Kaif’s most recent film ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ (2016) despite it not doing so well at the box office, ‘Kala Chashma’ from the film has proven to be one of the most played songs so far this year. Many have created their own versions on You Tube. So naturally event organisers are keen to have Kaif perform this at the show.

But Fernandez’s ‘Sau Tarah Ke’ from ‘Dishoom’ (2016) was also a chart topper. A source has said that all of Fernandez’s songs have been favourites with the audiences. “All songs that feature Jacqueline have been popular with the audience. Starting with ‘Lat Lag Gayi’ (Race 2; 2013), ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ and ‘Sooraj Dooba Hain’ (Roy; 2015), and most recently, ‘Beat Pe Booty’ (A Flying Jatt), all her songs have been popular. Similarly, Katrina too has proved lucky for film-makers as far as her songs are concerned. Right from ‘Chikni Chameli’ (Agneepath; 2012), ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ (Tees Maar Khan; 2010), ‘Kamli’ (Dhoom: 3; 2013) to the most recent ‘Kala Chashma’, all her songs were extremely popular.”

The source also said that although requests have started pouring in for Fernandez to perform at shows, she is occupied with the shoot of ‘Reloaded’, opposite Sidharth Malhotra. However, the actor is figuring out her dates to accommodate a few shows in her schedule.

But there may be another contender in all of this, Alia Bhatt. ‘Kar Gayi Chull’ from ‘Kapoor & Sons’ (2016) has also been high on the charts, and the organisers are keen to get Bhatt on board too.
