Iulia Vantur improving Hindi skills for ‘Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala’

Iulia Vantur who will be making her debut in Bollywood with ‘Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala’ is working on improving her Hindi skills.

Vantur has lent her vocals for a few Hindi songs, still needs to work on her language speaking skills.

“The basic challenge is the language in the film. I can understand what people say, but I am making a sincere effort to speak Hindi properly. I might struggle a bit with speaking my lines, but the whole team including my director is helping me cope with that,” says Vantur.

In ‘Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala’ Vantur shares what she likes about her character in the film, where she plays a Polish girl who is a Krishna bhakt from childhood. “I like my character. She seems very fragile, but she is very strong from the inside. She can fend for herself and her family. And she gets a lot of help from her husband when she is going through her troubles”.

As a person Vantur considers herself to be a spirtual person too, “While I was shooting for the poster, I was thinking of God and one’s love for God. In this film, it is about Krishna, but then God is universal. Be it for Krishna, Allah or Jesus, the emotions are the same. It is about happiness and surrendering yourself to the divine energy,” explains the singer.

The ‘Radha Kyun Gori Main Kyun Kaala’ team are currently shooting in Mathura, the birthplace of Krishna, so that the look and feel of the film is as authentic as can be. Decribing her journey into Bollywood, Vantur explains her family have been very supportive. “When I told them that I will be singing, they didn’t realise that I would be singing in Hindi. Later when I told them about my acting and the fact that my character would be raped etc, they were traumatised. But they understood I was doing it for a good cause. I keep telling them everything that I do and they support me.”

The film which is being directed by Prem Soni, is slated to release in 2019 and also stars Jimmy Sheirgill in a lead role along with Vantur.
