ITV & DAZN to share broadcast of IPL for next five years
ITV and DAZN have reportedly snatched IPL media rights for the UK territory from Sky Sports.
Reports say that 16 of the tournament’s matches will be aired exclusively on ITV, free-to-air. This will be the first time that IPL will air for free in the UK since 2014 when ITV held the rights previously.
The other 58 games of the cricket league, including play-offs and final, will stream on digital platform, DAZN. All 74 matches of the tournament will air on one of the ITV channels, with details expected to be announced imminently.
DAZN is the rights holder of the IPL in South Africa and Australia. This is its first foray into the UK market with the IPL.
