‘Ishaqzaade’ rules over ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ at box office

The two films that came head to head this weekend both had a lot of expectations surrounding them; ‘Ishaqzaade’ and ‘Dangerous Ishhq’. The former was a��launch-pad for Arjun Kapoor with the return of Parineeti Chopra in a new avatar and the latter sees the comeback of Karisma Kapoor.

According to One India Entertainment, YashRaj film’s political drama ‘Ishaqzaade’ seems to be fairing better than Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ which centres on regression. It had been thought by trade analsyts that ‘Ishaqzaade’ wouldn’t do too well due to it starring two newcomers but it come with surprise success. In fact, occupancy in it’s earliest shows has been better than ‘Band Baaja Baraat’, ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ and also this year’s ‘Vicky Donor’ and ‘Kahaani’.

In contrast, the level of promotions given to ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ were such that the film was expected to get a big opening. However, the movie hasn’t gotten off to quite that kind of start. The film is expected to collect almost half of what ‘Ishaqzaade’ should achieve.
