Irrfan Khan happy with Asif Kapadia Oscar win
The 2016 Oscar’s was all about actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Priyanka Chopra. However actor Irrfan Khan is raving about British film-maker Asif Kapadia who has won Best Documentary Feature for his film ‘Amy’.
Khan and Kapadia had worked together in the past for a film titled ‘The Warrior’ (2001). Talking about the film-maker’s win,��Absolute India reported Khan stating, “I am extremely thrilled for Asif. He is an amazing filmmaker and I am happy that we had the opportunity to work together in the past. His film The Warrior was a turning point of my life. It’s overwhelming to know that finally he got the much deserving Oscar.”
‘Amy’ is a documentary about the rise and fall of singer and musician Amy Whinehouse. Best known for her soulful voice, Whinehouse had a history of drug abuse and addiction. She died in her flat at the tender age of 27.
