Irrfan Khan gets his wish fulfilled in upcoming film

Irrfan Khan will fulfil a personal wish with his upcoming film ‘The Song of the Scorpions’. The film entwines music in its story line and Khan, well known to be a great lover of world music, had wanted to be part of a music-based film.

Khan, will be playing a camel trader in the film and is starring opposite Golshifteh Farahani, an Iranian actress, musician and singer, who essays the role of a healer who uses music to heal pain. The film, directed by Anup Singh, has been predominantly shot in the Thar Desert as there is a strong Rajasthani influence in the film.

According to MidDay, seven songs have been composed for the movie already, with two songs reportedly recorded by musicians living in the deserts of Jaisalmer and filmed with locals.

The film also stars Waheeda Rehman and Shashank Arora and is scheduled to release in June this year.
