Actor Akshay Kumar proved yet again what he is made of in Raja Krishna Menon’s ‘Airlift’ (2016). However news has it, the filmmaker wasn’t keen on Kumar at first and wanted to sign another acclaimed actor instead.
According to��Bollywood Hungama, Menon was considering approaching Irrfan Khan for the lead role as��Ranjit Katyal. However, it was producer Nikhil Advani who suggested taking on Kumar for the role instead.
Advani had also spoken to Kumar to do the film. Later when Advani approached Kumar, explaining to him that they couldn’t afford the actors price, Kumar decided to join the film making process as an addition producer as well.
‘Airlift’ also starred Nimrat Kaur.
