Iran International suspends operations in UK due to threats
Television network, Iran International has suspended its operations in the UK due to threats made against its London-based journalists.
The service will continue to operate from its offices in Washington DC.
Iran International, which broadcasts in Persian said the decision was down to “significant escalation in state-backed threats from Iran”.
“Threats had grown to the point that it was felt it was no longer possible to protect the channel’s staff,” it said.
Iran International has recently become an alternative news source on the wave of anti-government protests in Iran.
