Indian shows banned again on Pakistani television

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has once again imposed a ban on Indian films and shows being broadcast on Pakistani television.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar announced the ruling, which was filed by the United Producers Association. Faysal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam, Adnan Siddiqui, Wajahat Rauf and other members of the association protested that the ratio of airing foreign content should be cut down to 10% or less.

The release order said, “Supreme Court while hearing petition of United Producers Association (UPA) against telecast of Indian content on TV channels at Karachi Registry today has ordered complete ban on Indian content on all Pakistani channels with immediate effect.”

A ban on Indian content on Pakistani television was put into place in 2016, only to be lifted last year by the Lahore High Court.
