Indian news channel Republic set to launch in UK this month

India’s leading news channel, Republic, is set to launch in the UK, later this month, BizAsiaLive.com can exclusively reveal.

The popular channel helmed by Arnab Goswami, will be launching on Sky. Republic fast became the leading English news channel within days of its launch in India. The channel has been broadcasting since May 2017. Goswami was previously the Editor-in-Chief of Times Now, who resigned from the channel in November 2016.

BizAsiaLive.com understands that Republic is currently awaiting licence clearance from media regulator, Ofcom, before it begins test transmissions on the platform. Other details of the channel are being kept under wraps until its official announcement in the coming days.
