‘Indian Idol 5’ winner crowned on Sony TV

The winner of ‘Indian Idol 5’ has been confirmed as Sreeram Chandra from Andhra Pradesh on the popular reality TV show on Sony Entertainment Television Asia.

Sreeram was favourite to win the show. He beat off competition from fellow contestants Bhoomi Trivedi and Rakesh Maini.

Sreeram, 25, was announced the winner by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan at the Grand Finale held at Filmistan Studio. Sreeram walks away with Rs 50 lakh cash prize, a bike, a car, one-year contract with Sony TV and chance to sing in one of the forthcoming movies of Yashraj Films.

Sreeram has already recorded a song with Shreya Ghosal for an upcoming movie, music of which has been composed by Sandip-Suleman.
