Indian Films & TV Producers Council passes ban on Pakistani artistes

After comments made by Babul Supriyo, it seems the Indian Films & TV Producers Council has passed a resolution putting a ban on Pakistani artistes from working in Indian cinema, BizAsiaLive.com has learnt.

Supriyo had expressed his displeasure that Pakistani singers have been brought on board in ‘Welcome to New York’ when there are Indian talents who could do a good job at contributing to the soundtrack too. Suresh Amin, CEO at the Council, has confirmed the resolution’s success at a press conference in Delhi, according to DNA. Supriyo was also present at the event.

In the forthcoming ‘Welcome to New York’, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was brought in over Arijit Singh to sing a song, which was apparently at the request of Salman Khan who has an ongoing feud with the latter.
