Indian classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj passes away at 90

Indian classical vocalist veteran, Pandit Jasraj has passed away at the age of 90.

Jasraj suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in New Jersey.

A statement released by the family published in The Indian Express said, “With profound grief we inform that Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj ji breathed his last this morning at 5.15 EST due to a cardiac arrest at his home in New Jersey, USA.”

Jasraj’s illustrious musical career spanned over 80 years and was recognised with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan honours.
