India ratings: Times Now & Republic both claim leadership

Since the launch of English news channel, Republic in India, rest of the channels in the genre have had a lot to say.

Times Now, which has been India’s leading English news channel up until the launch of Republic has claimed victory over its rival in latest ratings for Week 23 of 2017. Incidentally, Republic has also gone on-air to claim the same victory, with audience figures being promoted on the channel.

In latest data, Republic has claimed 147 per cent more viewership than Times Now across all day parts and in India overall. Furthermore, Republic has claimed a 247 per cent viewership over Times Now during super primetime. Similarly, Times Now has been declaring its No.1 position in the English news genre with 42 per cent viewership, compared to the No.2 player Republic with 31 per cent viewership. Times Now put CNN News 18 in third with 9 per cent, India Today next with 7 per cent and NDTV 24×7 with 5 per cent.
