India ratings: Star Plus storms ahead; Star Utsav slips

India’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel, Star Plus reaffirmed its position on top and extended its lead from its rival, according to official data for Week 34 of 2016 from BARC India.

In the Urban market, Star Plus remained top with 496 million Impressions, followed by a distant No.2 – Colors with 375 million Impressions and ZEE TV in third with 328 million Impressions. In fourth place was SAB TV with 276 million Impressions, Life Ok with 270 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television with 265 million Impressions. &TV was in seventh with 158 million Impressions, ZEE Anmol with 123 million Impressions, Star Utsav with 115 million Impressions and Sony Pal with 104 million Impressions.

In terms of shows in the Urban market, ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV remained in the lead with 7.3 million Impressions, followed by ‘Saathiya’ on Star Plus with 6.3 million Impressions and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ on Sony TV with 6.2 million Impressions.

In the Rural market, ZEE Anmol dislodged Star Utsav from the top with 401 million Impressions, followed by Star Utsav with 395 million Impressions and Sony Pal in third with 315 million Impressions.
