India ratings: Star Plus & Star Utsav take lead

Star Plus remained India’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel in the Urban market, while Star Utsav jumped back to the top in the Rural market, according to official data from BARC India for Week 29 of 2016.

Star Plus was a distant leader with 478.215 million Impressions (last week 482.054 million Impressions), followed by Colors with 414.701 million Impressions (last week 409.365 million Impressions) and ZEE TV in third with 356.423 million Impressions (last week 334.037 million Impressions). Life Ok was back up to fourth place with 287.242 million Impressions (last week 268.809 million Impressions) and SAB TV with 266.242 million Impressions (last week 257.074 million Impressions).

The next five included Sony Entertainment Television in sixth with 258.719 million Impressions (last week 277.843 million Impressions), followed by &TV with 114.297 million Impressions, ZEE Anmol with 103.873 million Impressions, Star Utsav with 101.436 million Impressions and Sony Pal with 99.695 million Impressions.

The top rated show in Urban market was ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV with 7.521 million Impressions (last week 7.428 million Impressions), followed by ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ on Star Plus with 6.945 million Impressions and the final of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ on ZEE TV with 6.816 million Impressions.

In the Urban market, Star Utsav bounced back to the top with 348.824 million Impressions (last week 333.048 million Impressions), followed by ZEE Anmol with 329.641 million Impressions, Sony Pal with 313.911 million Impressions, ZEE TV with 280.475 million Impressions and Star Plus with 218.160 million Impressions.

The top rated show in Rural market was ‘Jodha Akbar’ on ZEE Anmol with 6.542 million Impressions (last week 6.936 million Impressions), followed by ZEE TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ with 5.970 million Impressions and ‘Bandini’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.733 million Impressions.
