India ratings: Star Plus remains India’s No.1

Star Plus held on to the title of India’s most watched Hindi entertainment channel (Urban market), according to official data from BARC India for Week 51 of 2016.

The channel distanced itself from its No.2 rival with 445.233 million Impressions, followed by Colors in second place with 432.787 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television at No.3 with 324.590 million Impressions. ZEE TV was in fourth with 277.360 million Impressions, whilst Sony SAB TV was in fifth with 263.705 million Impressions.

The most watched show in the Urban region was ‘Super Dancer’ on Sony TV with 9.066 million Impressions, followed by ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on Colors, which fell to No.2 with 8.753 million Impressions and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ on ZEE TV at No.3 with 7.013 million Impressions.

In the Rural region, Rishtey stayed top with 326.517 million Impressions, followed by Sony Pal with 300.440 million Impressions and ZEE Anmol in third with 283.537 million Impressions. Star Utsav was in fourth with 255.580 million Impressions and Star Plus at No.5 with 202.341 million Impressions.

The most watched show in the Rural region was ‘Naagin – Season 1’ on Rishtey with 8.704 million Impressions, followed by ‘Baalveer’ on Sony Pal with 5.698 million Impressions and ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on Colors with 5.140 million Impressions.
