India ratings: Star Plus leads; Sony TV at weekend

'Saathiya' doing well for Star Plus

After two weeks at number one, Star Plus has taken the lead again by grabbing the top spot but Sony Entertainment Television Asia has an edge at the weekend.

According to Week 51 data, ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ on Star Plus has toppled Colors’ ‘Balika Vadhu’ as the most watched Hindi drama in India. Overall, Star Plus won the battle with 231 GRPs this week (last week 231).

ZEE TV was in second with 226 GRPs this week (last week 191). Colors was in third after losing 16 GRPs and recorded 223 GRPs this week (last week 239). Sony TV was in fourth with 193 GRPs this week (last week 201).

Star Life Ok beat Sony SAB TV in the ratings by taking the fifth place. It added 15 GRPs to record 144 GRPs this week (last week 129). Sony SAB TV was in sixth with 143 GRPs this week (last week 140).

In terms of programming, ‘Saathiya’ was on top, followed by ‘Balika Vadhu’ . In third was Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus recording an average rating of 4.6 TVR (last week 4.3). ZEE TV’s ‘Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke’ and ‘Rab Se Sona Ishq’ shared the No. 4 position with an average TVR of 4.5. In fifth was ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ with 4.4 in Week 51 (last week 4.5).

Weekend programming consisted of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and ‘CID’, which topped the charts with 3.4 TVR. The third spot was also another Sony TV show ‘Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe’ with 3.1 TVR (last week 2.5). ‘Crime Patrol’ grabbed 3.0 TVR this week (last week 2.8). ‘Fear Files’ on ZEE TV was in fifth with an average of 2.3 TVR this week.
