India ratings: Star Plus climbs, others decline

The latest data for Indian TV ratings is out and it shows Star Plus continue to dominate, with Sony Entertainment Television Asia, Colors and ZEE TV sliding.

According to Week 39 of 2011, Star Plus added 17 more GRPs this week. The channel has recorded 306 GRPs (last week 289). Sony TV lost 21 GRPs this week totaling to 249 GRPs (last week 270).

Colors was in third, also losing a few points. It registered 205 GRPs (last week 211 GRPs). ‘Bigg Boss 5’ launch data was not included in this week. This will be accounted for next week.

ZEE TV touched a new low with 157 points (last week 176).

SAB TV recorded 126 GRPs in Week 40 (last week 123). Imagine TV registered 75 GRPs (last week 78).

This week also saw the Grand Finale of ‘Just Dance’ (Star Plus), ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Lil Champs’ (ZEE TV) and ‘India’s Got Talent 3’ (Colors). It was ‘Just Dance’ that won the talent shows contest. It garnered 2.9, whereas ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa: Lil Champs’ got 2.6 and ‘India’s Got Talent 3′ received 2.0 TVR.

Amongst the Top 5 shows, Star Plus’ ‘Saathiya’ was the most watched show in India with 5 TVR, ‘KBC’ with 4.2, ‘Bade Ache Lagte Hain’ with 3.7 TVR, ‘Crime Patrol’ with 3.6 and ‘Uttaran’ with 3.5. Surprisingly ZEE TV shows have all dropped out of the Top 10 chart.
