India ratings: Sony TV up to No.3 & Sony Pal surges

Sony Pictures Networks channels continued to build up on their ratings week-on-week, with latest data suggesting Sony Entertainment Television moving up to No.3 in the Urban region and Sony Pal taking the top spot in the Rural market.

According to official data from BARC India for Week 45 of 2016, Colors led the Urban market with 433.668 million Impressions, followed by Star Plus with 401.346 million Impressions and Sony Entertainment Television at No.3 with 287.727 million Impressions. ZEE TV bounced back to No.4 with 253.034 million Impressions and Sony SAB TV was in fifth 252.499 million Impressions.

The top rated shows in the Urban region all belonged to Colors with ‘Naagin – Season 2’ on top with 8.604 million Impressions, followed by ‘Shakti’ with 7.655 million Impressions and ‘Udann’ at No.3 with 6.258 million Impressions.

In the Rural region, Sony Pal returned to No.1 with 343.280 million Impressions, followed by ZEE Anmol with 331.554 million Impressions and Star Utsav at No.3 with 305.659 million Impressions. Rishtey was placed at No.4 with 290.181 million Impressions and Colors next with 207.719 million Impressions.

The top rated show in the Rural region was ‘Naagin – Season 1’ on Rishtey with 8.111 million Impressions, followed by ‘Baal Veer’ on Sony SAB TV with 6.509 million Impressions and ‘Jodha Akbar’ on ZEE Anmol with 5.525 million Impressions.
