India Ratings: Sony TV replaces ZEE TV in third

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has dislodged ZEE TV from the third position thanks again to the showing of blockbuster movie, ‘3 Idiots’.

According to Week 40 2010 data from TAM, Sony TV benefited from the repeat telecast of the screening last week. The movie garnered a TVR of 4.9; while the channel earned 41 GRPs for the movie alone. The first airing on Sony TV had recorded a TVR of 11 and fetched 92 GRPs.

ZEE TV moved to fourth, with a decline of 17 per cent to 14 per cent market share; and the channel has lost 42 GRPs over the last week. It collected 95 GRPs this week compared to last week’s 237 GRPs.

Meanwhile at the top, Star Plus gained 10 points from last week to 378 GRPs. Colors remains in second place losing 8 points from last week to 265 GRPs.
