India ratings: Sony TV inches ahead of Imagine

Sony Entertainment Television Asia has reclaimed the number four slot, inching past closest rival NDTV Imagine, according to latest audience figures.

The TAM data, which monitors viewership across Indian television saw Sony TV sitting at number four with a TRP of 142, up 22 points from 120 in the previous week. NDTV Imagine was at number five with 138 TRP (126 in the previous week).

In the top tier, Colors remains at the top with a TRP of 308, as against 284 TRP in the previous week. This despite STAR Plus’ new big ticket show ‘Sach Ka Samna’ opening up very well. The reality show, which had generated a lot of interest even before launch, opened with a TRP of 4.6 and managed an average of 4.3 TRP in its opening week despite the timing of 22:30 – 23:30. Prior to this, STAR Plus was getting an average TRP of just 0.8 from this time band.

ZEE TV settles for number three with a TRP of 266 (259 TRP in the previous week).

In other channels, SAB TV was a distant number six with TRP of 59, down seven points from 66 in Week 28.

STAR One gained marginally to reach 51 TRPs as against 50 in the previous week; Sahara One showed a dip from 35 to 31 TRPs in Week 29; Star Utsav was at 28 TRPs (26 TRPs in Week 28); 9X was at 21 TRPs (20 TRPs in Week 28). Real slipped further to 8 TRPs from 10 TRPs in the previous week.
