India ratings: Sony TV closes in on Star Plus

The latest round of Indian TV ratings are out and it shows Sony Entertainment Television Asia only inches away from the top position that is occupied by Star Plus.

Sony TV has done well this week after it cancelled the premiere of ‘The Dirty Picture’ and replaced it with a break-free version of ‘3 Idiots’ – it garnered 4.1 TVR for the channel. The channel was 15 points behind market leader, Star Plus. It got 240 GRPs this week (last week 209).

Star Plus bettered its position this week, first time since the IPL started, it delivered 255 GRPs this week(last week 248).

ZEE TV slipped to third position this week but has been celebrating after its show ‘DID Lil Masters’ started off in a huge way by raking up 5.78 TVR for the channel. Overall, ZEE TV delivered 210 GRPs this week (last week 214).

Colors was relatively untouched in fourth with 195 GRPs (last week 194).

SAB TV recorded 110 GRPs this week (last week 115).

Life OK was in sixth with 83 GRPs (last week 86).

Sahara One was in seventh with 43 GRPs this week (last week 45).
